Fresh White-and-Wood Search For Empty Nesters

The cooking area of this empty-nest couple included some great conventional information: raised-panel cabinets, ogee-edge granite counter tops, a tray ceiling and an arched architectural function over the peninsula. However taken together in the tight U-shaped design, the outcome was an area that appeared like it had a bit excessive going on.

Looking for a more structured appearance with an upgraded timeless design and an island, the couple collected motivation pictures on Houzz and after that employed designer Olga Dean and contractor Jason Adams. The renovating group produced an L-shaped design with a main island. New crisp white Shaker-style cabinets and a marble tile backsplash in a dynamic pattern bring a fresh take on custom. A stained wood island includes heat and matches the existing walnut floor covering. And a concealed baking center is an enjoyable and practical surprise.
