More Stone - March 28, 2006

There's something to be said for loving what you do for a living. Or not hating what you do. Or at the very least, being able to admit that you don't care about what you're doing.

Having achieved a certain peace with the fact that I don't care about what I'm doing slightly improved my overall level of happiness. But interestingly, I think it has also improved my ability to do all that stuff I don't care about. After all, it's not like I can just quit (at least not yet). So I have to keep plugging along. But now I'm not so hung up on doing everything perfectly. Or more accurately, I'm not so worried about what will happen if I fuck something up a little. And so I'm more relaxed, and I think it makes me better able to make clutch decisions (which I have to do a lot).

And in the meantime, I can think about whatever the next step is.

Great detail in this shot Tom. I really like the elliptical shape of the tunnel. As for your plight in life... man, you are too young to feel that way about your work! That is late middle age stuff... like where I am now. Hang in there.
