Jess and I are buying a house. We're both pretty excited. This photo was taken right across the street from where we currently rent an apartment in Newton. It's actually taken looking right across the Massachusetts Turnpike. That lamp post is on the median strip.
The Pike has been basically our front yard for the last two and a half years. I remember after moving in joking with Jess about the constant sound of highway traffic. "Just imagine it's the sound of surf," I'd say with my mock glass-half-full attitude.
Usually she just rolled her eyes.
Our new front yard overlooks... woods.
Man, is it ever quiet in the evenings there. I'm going to just love it.
I also got the EF-S 10-22mm super wide angle zoom lens. I am psyched about that.

Congrats on both purchases Tom. This is a spectacular picture and if you had not said anything, who would have known there was a superhighway so close? I have passed right by your window I am sure (though it has been more than 4 years since I was in Boston).
Glad you found the superwide you were hankering for. Hope to see some examples of it's work soon!
