That Light - August 21, 2005

There's a certain kind of light that I just love. This is yet another picture from my Bumper Crop Photo Weekend. And I think part of the reason why I was so ecstatic with that day is the light. It was hot and humid as hell, and the light was diffuse. I used to love going out on cloudy days. The reason for that was that the lack of direct sunlight allowed certain techniques to bring out natural textures in objects.

I think now, though, I've become more a fan of a hazy day. The sunlight allows for bright higlights, but light doesn't overwhelm.

You would have loved my vacation...hazy was the only condition I saw the entire week!!
