When I decided to do this (the photoblog) the temptation to spend a lot of time designing something really cool was enormous. But Movable Type was complicated enough, and I didn't want something less relevant to get in the way of priority number one: the taking and posting of photos. So I spent all of about an hour and a half designing the site.

And over the last week I've gotten sick of it.

Or at least certain design choices I made. So sick, in fact, that I had to make some changes. Hence, what you see here.

This isn't a final design by any means. I just had to get rid of one or two things that were giving me the jibbleys. But now that this thing is under way, I do want to redesign this. Soon, hopefully.

In the meantime, if anybody notices anything about this site that is broken as a result of my expedited repairs, please don't hesitate to drop me a line and let me know.

Tom,
I guess I'm crazy but what is different? To me, the test of a good photoblog is that the site design does not interfere with the enjoyment of the picture. In both your old design (which now that I think about it had a dark border) and this one, the picture is the dominate feature, just as it should be. So play with all you want, and I will tell you when I see something broken, but remember to keep the picture front and center!! As for me, I decided from the get-go that I was not interested in doing web design, so I tripped into Expressions where I have been quite satisfied so far. Only $3 a month and they have several templates to choose from and allow customization.
