No Fear - July 05, 2005

I find that I'm very drawn to abstract photography. Having recently spent some time looking through darkshapes.com I began to realize that an unusually high percentage of the photos I take that I like are way on the abstract side. In darkshapes, there's a boldness which is not afraid to tell the viewer what he/she is looking at, and yet still find something striking or beautiful in it. Of course, way more of that photography is posed than what my photography contains--which is not at all a detraction from those shots, which I love.

I guess I'm still left wondering whether abstraction is just a cop out on my own part.
